Shrinking Ring
Reduce die diameter and increase die life with one solution.
When: A die cap under load is subject to sever stress that can exceed plasticity limit.
Using thermal shrinkage principle we apply a ring to the cap section with the aim to reduce its deflection under load and, as a consequence, the peak stress.
Thanks to Shrinking Ring technology caps are more stable and their operating life can even double.
Last, but not least, using a shrining ring it is possible to reduce the required die diameter and/or to give full guarantee to a die that normally would crack under load.
